Intro to Drones for Mapping

The Clemson Center for Geospatial Technologies is excited to announce a series of free GIS workshops for those interested in acquiring fundamental GIS skills that are in high demand for research and the job market. All the sessions are hands-on with step-by-step tutorials and expert assistance and are open to Clemson students, faculty, and staff.

Learn how UAV’s can be used as a geospatial data collection platform and how terrestrial LiDAR scanning is performed. Perform hands-on data processing to turn pictures from a UAV into 3D point clouds and aerial photos as well as try out a LiDAR scanner and process the data.
