Stacie Powell

She is currently serving as the Data Services Librarian and the Director of the Data Visualization Lab in the Clemson Libraries.

Educational/training background

Stacie has dedicated 14 years to the fields of librarianship and data management, working across various sectors including libraries and the Federal Government. Before joining Clemson University, she served as a Lead Government Information Specialist at the United States Department of State. Her career also includes roles as a Lead Data Management Coordinator and Data Management Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, where she excelled in providing data management expertise, identifying data needs, managing data lifecycles, evaluating tools for optimal data governance, and supporting mission success and regulatory compliance. Prior to her tenure at the CIA, Stacie worked as an academic Research and Instruction Librarian and a public librarian. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Clemson University and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
