What Are Your Values at Work?

As a result of participating in this event, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify and prioritize at least three core workplace values using a guided values-sorting activity during the session.
  • Analyze a workplace scenario to determine how conflicting values can influence professional decisions.
  • Articulate a values-based explanation for a career or workplace preference in a brief written or verbal reflection by the end of the session.

Dr. Jenny Presgraves

She is currently serving as Director of Professional Development and Well-being in the Graduate School.

Educational/training background

Dr. Presgraves has worked in education for 18 years, teaching a wide range of courses at both the high school and college level. While at Clemson, she has taught courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Reproduction, American Government, and Public Data Analysis. Dr. Presgraves has a master’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Science with research emphases in immunology and reproduction and a PhD in policy with an emphasis in science and technology policy. In addition, Dr. Presgraves has worked in student services at the graduate level for four years and been the course advisor for the Policy Studies PhD Program.

Event Description

Understanding your workplace values can clarify career decisions, reduce burnout, and strengthen professional relationships. This session helps participants surface and articulate the values that guide how they work, collaborate, and define success. Emphasis is placed on applying values language in decision-making, job searches, and workplace conversations.
