Emotional Intelligence at Work

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize our own feelings, and those of others, in order to respond productively and communicate better with each other. Emotional intelligence allows us to manage relationships and resolve conflicts more effectively and is a needed skill in the workplace. This training will cover feelings v. emotions, self-awareness, implicit bias, identity, and empathy and will help you strengthen your emotional intelligence at work.

  • Develop two new strategies for successfully navigating the dissertation process, including literature review synthesis, data management, and ethical research practices.
  • Identify two new campus resources, support systems, and tools—such as writing centers, citation managers, and productivity strategies—that can enhance writing efficiency and dissertation progress.

This workshop is only for graduate students who are in the candidate stage or will be in the candidate stage by the date of the boot camp.

Giving Effective Feedback

In this training, we explore how to give effective feedback to those around you. We dive into why giving feedback is difficult, how you can mitigate the challenges, and how you can get the results you are looking for. We discuss giving feedback to subordinates, supervisors, and equals and also how to receive feedback effectively. This session will provide practical tips and experiential learning.
